Bridgetown, Barbados, June 2 - (www.bcacricket.org) - Marlon Samuels slammed a century in a West Indies first innings total of 272 all out off 72.3 overs against a Barbados Select XI on the first day of a two-day match at 3Ws Oval today.
Barbados Select were 22 for one off eight overs at the close.
Samuels batted for 162 minutes, faced 95 balls and struck 13 fours and five sixes.

ST JOHN’S, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board today advised that the Third Test between West Indies and New Zealand will be played at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. The dates of the Test – June 26 to 30 – remain.
The WICB thanks the Barbados Cricket Association and the Government of Barbados for their commitment in ensuring that the match is successfully hosted following the rescheduling.
The Test will be a bonus for cricket fans in Barbados who witnessed three enthralling Twenty20 Internationals between the West Indies and England in March this year.
The Third Test was originally scheduled to be played at the Guyana National Stadium but was relocated following the Board and the Government of Guyana not being able to find a mutually agreeable resolution relating to the Cricket Administration Bill.
LAST Saturday, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) announced the relocation of the third Test between West Indies and New Zealand from Guyana, citing failure to bring resolution to an ongoing dispute within the game in the country and the recent passing of the Cricket Administration Bill in the National Assembly.
However, last evening, the Government of Guyana rubbished the claims made by the WICB and issued the following release:
The Government of Guyana notes with deep regret the decision of the West Indies Cricket Board to relocate the Third Test between West Indies and New Zealand, from Guyana.
We observe with even greater concern, certain assertions made by the WICB regarding this matter and we feel compelled to respond.

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC) — Newly appointed West Indies captain Denesh Ramdin has expressed concern over his side’s batting, and wants to see a bigger effort in that department before the first Test against New Zealand which bowls off in eight days.
The Windies batsmen generally struggled in a threeday match against a Barbados Select XI which ended on Wednesday. Darren Bravo got 124 and Kirk Edwards, 50, in the first innings of the fixture at 3Ws Oval but no other batsman got a half-century.
There are striking similarities in the West Indies Cricket Board's suspension of Sunil Narine for the forthcoming home Tests against New Zealand and that of Desmond Haynes 19 years ago, prior to the 1995 series against Australia.
Both involve the players' failure to meet a deadline for returning to the Caribbean, in Narine's case for the squad's preparatory training camp, in Haynes' for all matches in the domestic first-class tournament (then the Red Stripe Cup).
