St. George's: West Indies and Bangladesh commence a three-match One-Day International series at the Queen's Park Stadium in Grenada on Wednesday with the home side heavily favoured to extend the tourists' miserable record in 2014.
Despite several encouraging performances in a 95-run win in their lone warm-up fixture against a Grenada XI on Sunday, Bangladesh will be hard-pressed to challenge a Caribbean side brimming with big-name international players, all of whom will be match fit given their participation in the just-concluded second season of the Caribbean Premier League T20 franchise tournament.

The second edition of the CPL had crowds and runs aplenty, but concluded with an anti-climax.
For the first match of the Limacol Caribbean Premier League for 2014, the clouds hovered all game without a drop of rain falling. But in the last match, the grand finale, showers spoiled the party, allowing Messrs Duckworth and Lewis to decide the outcome of the game with just 25 balls left to be completed. For several minutes before Kieron Pollard and his Barbados Tridents emerged on the field to celebrate their victory at Warner Park in St Kitts, television viewers and those in the packed audience stared at an empty field. The covers were removed, but there was no sign that play was about to resume. It later turned out there was a dispute about the application of Duckworth-Lewis, leading the losing Guyana Amazon Warriors to contest the outcome.

There is uncertainty surrounding the future of West Indies coach Ottis Gibson ahead of the home series against Bangladesh which is scheduled to start in Grenada tomorrow with the first One-Day International.
There were rumours yesterday that the former West Indies and Barbados cricketer would not be with the team for the ODIs which led to speculation about his future as West Indies head coach.
The West Indies team was scheduled to assemble in Grenada yesterday but West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) president Dave Cameron confirmed that “he (Gibson) is not in Grenada, that much we can confirm.”

The Management of the Guyana Amazon Warriors Team has taken a decision to contest the outcome of the second Caribbean Premier League (CPL) final played between the Amazon Warriors and the Barbados Tridents on August 16 at Warner Park, St Kitts and Nevis.
This decision was taken following a review of the sequence of events that took place during the game, which started at 16:03h (4:03 p.m.) under overcast conditions.
