Though he tried, West Indies opener Chris Gayle could not hold back tears as he officially launched the local leg of his academy at Lucas Cricket Club yesterday.
The big left-hander, whose has become renowned for his powerful stroke play, broke down while talking about the occasion, which for him was "a dream come true".
"To be here today and witness myself setting up an academy for underprivileged youngsters to learn the game as well as life skills is indeed an honour and a privilege," said Gayle before sobbing, and taking out a handkerchief.

New Zealand turned the tables on a Jamaica Select XI to pull off a 123 run win just after tea on the third and final day of their three-day tour game at the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Complex here yesterday.
The Jamaicans, chasing a victory target of 214, crashed to 90 all out to give the visitors a moral boosting triumph ahead of the first test match against West Indies at Sabina Park starting on Sunday.
The home side plummeted to 47 for seven at one stage before skipper Paul Palmer attempted to repair the damage with a top score of 43.
Palmer was last to depart trapped lbw to Neil Wagner playing across to a pitched up delivery.
No other Jamaican batsman crossed six runs except for Horace Miller who scored 14 while extras accounted for nine.

The former West Indies Under-19 star roared to 147 to help cement the HPC's advantage against Bangladesh cricketers on the third day of the second and final four-day 'Test'.
The visitors, chasing a victory target of 490 runs, were 32 for three at stumps, after the home side, on the strength of Blackwood's three-figure score - supported by an outstanding half century from Assad Fudadin - declared their second innings on 354 for five.

Christopher Powell, Derval Green and Nicholson Gordon grabbed seven wickets approaching stumps as the visitors plunged to 65 on the second day of their three-day tour game against Jamaica select X1 at the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Complex here Tuesday.

Fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell and leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo grabbed three wickets each as the Sagicor West Indies High Performance Centre (HPC) stayed on top against Bangladesh A on the second day of their four-day “Test” at Kensington Oval, Barbados, yesterday.
The visitors were dismissed for 219 with Cottrell sending back both openers Imul Kayes (21) and Samsur Rahman (four) in the first ten overs before trapping Elias Sunny lbw for nine late in the innings to finish with three for 30 off 11 overs.
