ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board reinstated Phil Simmons today to his duties as Head Coach of the West Indies Senior Men’s Team.
Simmons was suspended from his duties as Head Coach after inappropriately commenting on and disclosing the specific voting of individual selectors of the WICB’s Selection Panel when selecting the West Indies Men’s Senior Squad to tour Sri Lanka in October and November 2015.
Simmons’ reinstatement was conditioned upon:
● issuance to him of a letter of reprimand for his inappropriate public comments; and
● Simmons making a public apology to the WICB and persons whom he may have offended (Details for the download of the audio from Simmons’ public apology are below).
Going forward, and as a separate matter, the WICB will immediately investigate the allegations made by Simmons, and take the necessary and appropriate action following this investigation.

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board is excited to announce that the prize money pool for the 2015-16 Professional Cricket League Regional 4-Day Tournament has received a significant boost, jumping from just over US $30,000 to more than US $120,000.

“He is the only West Indian bowler that the opposition around the world is afraid of and I think this is the reason he is being targeted.”
West Indies mystery spinner Sunil Narine is being targeted according to cricket officials. Narine was reported with a suspect bowling action during the third ODI against Sri Lanka, which the home side won by 19 runs in Pallekele on Saturday.
The match officials’ report, which was handed over to the West Indies team management after the contest, cited concerns about the legality of the 27-year-old’s deliveries.
Narine’s bowling action will now be scrutinised further under the ICC process relating to suspected illegal bowling actions reported in Tests, ODIs and T20Is. He is required to undergo testing within 14 days, and, during this period, Narine is permitted to continue bowling in international cricket until the results of the testing are known.

A rollicking 91-run opening partnership, brisk stands through the middle, and a violent Angelo Mathews finish sent Sri Lanka hurtling to 215 for 3 - the highest ever T20 international total on the island - and set the scene for a 30-run victory. Tillakaratne Dilshan top-scored with 56 off 37 balls, but it was Mathews' 13-ball 37 that grew Sri Lanka's total from imposing to enormous.
Andre Fletcher cracked 57 off 25 balls in response, but his teammates could not prosper long against Sri Lanka's spin. Sachithra Senanayake claimed four wickets, Milinda Siriwardana two, and Shehan Jayasuriya picked up the last scalp, to wipe out the visitors for 185 in the penultimate over. The start of the match had been delayed by over an hour due to rain, but it commenced at 8:10pm with no overs lost.
