The Amazon Warriors completed a three-wicket win over St Lucia Zouks last evening in a nail biting affair. Chasing 112 with 20 overs to face, Warriors started the chase comfortably. After the first six overs, Lendl Simmons scored 25 off 20 (5×4), Assad Fudadin departed for a run-a-ball five then the skipper Denesh Ramdin joined Simmons at the crease.
The duo brought up the 50 off just 6.2 overs much to the pleasure of the Guyanese crowd which was not short of excited fans. Safe singles seemed to be the route the Warriors would take to chase the target down and it worked well for them, before Simmons 31 (27b 5×4 0x6) lofted one to the long on, down the throat of substitute Keddy Lesporis off the bowling of Keron Cottoy.
The departure of Brad Hodge for a duck then silenced the Warriors crowd. A pretty little partnership began to brew between Umar Akmal and Ramdin before the Pakistani was surprisingly given LBW off the bowling of Cottoy.
The departure of hometown hero Christopher Barnwell for 7 gave Cottoy his fourth wicket of the night and set the warriors on a downward spiral.

Darren Bravo's late flourish converted Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel's middling score into an imposing one, and then his brother Dwayne and the spinners dismissed all the Barbados Tridents batsmen before they made 20 to secure a 72-run win at Queen's Park Oval. The result improved Red Steel's standing at the bottom of the league: they are now two wins away from catching Tridents at the top, with two games in hand.

Changes coming for Red Steel brand
There could be some big changes to the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel franchise come next year.
This is according to Hero Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 CEO Damien O'Donohoe who also revealed that there could be a shake-up for the 2016 tournament as the organisers try to keep the excitement going and break new ground.
O'Donohoe believes that after three successful seasons, the CPL has risen to become one of the leading T20 leagues in the world and wants the tournament to keep on rising.
He also noted that the fact that the owners of the Indian Premier League franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have bought the Red Steel franchise is an indication of how much the CPL has grown.

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board has discontinued pursuing a disciplinary charge brought against West Indies opener Chris Gayle.
On January 11 this year, Gayle made public comments during a post-match interview that were critical of the selection policy of the WICB, when Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo were not selected for the West Indies team that took part in the ICC Cricket World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2015.
A charge was later laid against Gayle that he had conducted himself in a manner contrary to Rule 9 of the WICB’s Code of Conduct.
Rule 9 states that “players and team officials shall not make public or media comment which is detrimental to the interests of the game”.
The charge was referred to the Disciplinary Committee of the WICB which comprises:
-Justice Adrian Saunders (Chairman)
-Madame Justice Desiree Bernard
-Hon. Dr. Lloyd Barnett, QC, OJ
-Desmond Haynes
-Jeffrey Dujon; and
-Verlyn Faustin (Secretary to the Committee)
The WICB’s Code of Conduct also states that such a charge must be laid against an offender within 10 days of the alleged commission of the offence.
It came to the attention of the Disciplinary Committee however, that Gayle had previously been the subject of a reprimand for his comments and the charge was served on him outside the required time frame.
In the circumstances, the WICB has accepted the intimation of the Disciplinary Committee that the charge should be discontinued and Gayle has accordingly been so notified.
