CRICKET WEST INDIES CONDUCTS HIGH PERFORMANCE MEETING

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Head Coach of the West Indies Women’s senior team, Shane Deitz, met with regional franchise and pathway coaches, along with players from the franchises and pathway level, at the ongoing CG United Super50 competition in St. Kitts over the weekend.

The seminar is part of Cricket West Indies' strategic plan to develop the women’s game. Thirty-nine (39) players from across the six (6) regional teams attended.

Also present at the meeting were High Performance Manager Dwain Gill, High Performance Officer with responsibility for the Women’s Pathway Program Clint St Hill, and Senior Talent Manager for Women’s Cricket Ann Browne-John.

The players participated in several tutorial sessions focused on enhancing individual development, working with their territorial pathway coaches, and understanding the demands of becoming an elite player at the regional and international levels.

Bissoondyal Singh re-elected unopposed as president of Guyana Cricket Board

Businessman Bissoondyal Singh was on Saturday afternoon re-elected unopposed as president of the Guyana Cricket Board at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), held at the Hostel at LBI, East Coast Demerara.

Cricket Ombudsman Malcolm Peters presided over the elections. The AGM lasted approximately four hours with pertinent issues surrounding cricket administration being ventilated and discussed by stakeholders.

Moments after being re-elected, Singh spoke to the media about the gains made over the last four years, and projections for the new term.

Singh will have on his executive for the next four years, Essequibo Cricket Board president Deleep Singh as First Vice-President and Berbice Cricket Board president Dr. Cecil Beharry as Second Vice-President.
