Russell sees Knights past Titans
Pretoria - A solid all-round bowling performance helped the Knights beat the Titans by 35 runs in their Ram Slam T20 Challenge match in Centurion on Friday.
Despite having wickets in hand at the back end of their innings, the Titans were unable to keep up with the rate required chasing 180 to win.
In the end, all the Titans could manage was 144/5 in their innings. Despite Dean Elgar making the highest score of the match with 65, it came from 64 balls as he struggled to find the boundaries his side needed.
West Indies players who took strike action and abandoned the recent India tour, have come in for scathing criticism from former Australian international cricketer and commentator, Dean Jones.
In an interview with PakPassion.net today, Jones described the Dwayne Bravo-led squad as “dummies”. Jones said he fully understood that the players needed to be paid but suggested they just hadn’t thought their actions through or worked out the implications. He noted tours had been abandoned before for reasons ranging from riots to assassinations, but the West Indies were the only ones to abandon a tour over money. read more at Barbados Today
