Sounds like you trying to shield yourself for facts
If you know GT, then you know the idea of government officials covering up for a friend/celebrity is not that unbelievable

After watching the videos and reading the articles, especially the sickening one Josh just posted, this individual needs to be institutionalized

I'm no politician, never was and never will be. All of them are thieves lol

But this is not something that is coming up now. The young lady that Hughes is representing is from since 2023. They had her running around since then.

The latest case allegedly happened just before the player left Guyana (which is recent, 2025). Based on what people are saying, the police are yet to take the victim statement.

I will agree with them that Melly Mel and Hughes might have political motives but that's not the case with the KN reporter. He is one of the most respected sports journalist in the Country.

Where did i say government are not capable of covering up for friends/family or celebrities????.....stick to the WHY NOW...or is it merely a coincidence???.....an i reiterate i am not making light of the allegations.....obviously non-Guyanese will want see this as a mere coincidence coming in the middle of a test match but Guyanese will be little more sceptical to say the least esp with what lies ahead in couple months time....i can't make it any clearer than that!!

a few weeks ago????......for something like an alleged rape to come to light??.....let me simplify this.....had there not been a test series involving Windies and or an upcoming election in Gt do you think these allegations would have surfaced right here right now???

My point stands
A victim does not have to care when to expose their abuser.
This thing has been going on since 2023, constantly being swept away, the only way justice can happen in those circumstances is to get loud.

It doesn’t matter when the truth comes out—what matters is that it finally does.

These allegations weren’t made yesterday. Complaints, along with solid data, were handed over to the authorities months ago. Yet, nothing was done.

This isn’t a single case, either. Eleven women, to be exact, came forward. Eleven. They suffered in silence while watching this individual receive praise and even be treated like a hero.

And let’s not forget: in the video, it’s clear that higher-ups stepped in—why, exactly? To hush things up? To protect their own?

The way the Police handled these women was appalling. They were left to deal with their pain alone, ignored and dismissed by the very people who were supposed to help them.

It took one woman, finally, to go to the newspapers in Guyana. Only now is this story seeing daylight. Only now are people paying attention.

So, tell me: where, exactly, does this become about politics or elections? This isn’t about some political game. It’s about real people, real suffering, and a system that failed them—over and over again.

Hughes, Fields and Stoby Law Firm representing woman accusing cricketer of rape

Kaieteur Sports – The Law Offices of Hughes, Fields and Stoby has been recruited to represent a young woman from Berbice who has accused a well-known Guyanese and West Indies cricketer of rape, a senior lawyer at the firm disclosed yesterday.“She will be represented by a number of attorneys from the law firm,” the senior representative of the law firm stated.

The alleged victim’s family, speaking exclusively with Kaieteur News, has expressed deep concern over what they describe as a sustained effort by law enforcement authorities to suppress and cover up the incident, which allegedly occurred on March 3, 2023, at a residence in New Amsterdam, Berbice.

At the time, the alleged victim was 18 years old.

WHY NOW!!!

It’s not a coincidence that’s for sure.

The story was released at this time with intent.

The attempt to shame and provoke a response is obvious. The statements from the lawyer leave no doubt as to who is involved.

Enough unsavory business all around.

There was a gentleman at the Press Conference who tried to introduce the issue but he was a coward and would not speak plainly. Of course I am sure it is not you because our Bajan friends are much more savvy and intelligent, and do know how to ask a question.
