West Indies consolidated their hold over the second Test, moving from a position of control to complete dominance by extending their lead to 331 with Darren Bravo, who reached his maiden international ton in his 10th Test off the last ball of the day, and Kirk Edwards laying the platform to shut Bangladesh out of contention through a stand worth 151. On a track where spinners found some turn and bite, the Bangladesh bowlers let themselves down, were not backed up by their fielders and appeared to be beating a retreat with spread-out fields when the need of the hour was quick wickets and a strong comeback.

PROVIDENCE, Guyana, CMC – Jamaica were crowned Regional Super50 kings on Saturday, after an unbroken 45-run stand between Tamar Lambert and Shawn Findlay ushered them to a five-wicket victory over Trinidad & Tobago.
Lambert was not out on the top score of 30 and Findlay was not out on 25, as Jamaica successfully chased a modest 119 for victory in the low-scoring Final under the lights at the Guyana National Stadium.

West Indies took control of the second Test riding on the back of landmark performances from the two men named Edwards - Kirk and Fidel. One reached his second Test century to lay the stage for a competitive score, the other blew away the Bangladesh top and middle order with his eleventh five-for. Just as significant to West Indies' primacy, was the almost inexplicable approach of the Bangladesh batsmen. They chose attack over caution during a fiery spell of pace bowling and despite a fighting innings from Shakib Al Hasan - who backed up his eighth five-wicket haul with a half-century under pressure - left their team staring at the possibility of conceding a sizeable lead.

An inexperienced West Indies top order built a platform for a substantial first-innings score on a track that promised plenty of runs and just as much discouragement for bowlers, who will have to toil hard for any rewards. Darren Sammy had opted to bat without hesitation in conditions far friendlier for batting than what Chittagong had to offer during the first Test. Though the absence of Lendl Simmons at the top of the order due to a back injury would have been a worry, his replacement, Kieran Powell, Kraigg Brathwaite and Kirk Edwards batted solidly for the most part though not without some jitters.

PROVIDENCE, Guyana, CMC – Jamaica squeaked into the Final of the Regional Super50 tournament, surviving a scare from the West Indies High Performance Centre, when they clinched a one-wicket victory on Thursday.
Chasing 177 to win, the Jamaicans crossed the finish line with one ball remaining in the second semi-final at the Guyana National Stadium, when Odean Brown crashed the penultimate delivery of the match, bowled coincidentally by compatriot Nkrumah Bonner, for four straight down the ground.
