KARACHI: Pakistan will tour West Indies next year to play two tests, five one-day internationals and a Twenty20 match.
“There had been a suggestion to split the tour but now it is confirmed for July,” a Pakistan Cricket Board official told Reuters on Wednesday.
The West Indies earlier wanted to postpone Pakistan’s tour to August because of a clash with a tri-nation tournament with Sri Lanka and India. However, the PCB refused to make the change as it hopes to host India in August.
Pakistan have not played an international match on home soil since 2009 when armed militants attacked Sri Lanka’s team bus in Lahore.

NEW DELHI: The Indian cricket board (BCCI), the richest body in the sport, has prevailed upon the Sri Lanka and West Indies boards to postpone a series scheduled for May since it would have clashed with next year's Indian Premier League.
The West Indies are the reigning World T20 champions while the Lankans had finished runners-up in this year's tournament. The postponement ensures that a host of stars, including the likes of Chris Gayle, will become available for the entire IPL 6 season.
BY any measurement, 2012 has been a good year for West Indies (men's) cricket.
Their triumph in the ICC World Twenty20 tournament in Sri Lanka, beating the hosts in the final, was undoubtedly the crowning moment.
That was the West Indies' first global title since winning the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy, and their greatest triumph since the 1979 ICC Cricket World Cup.
In truth, the regional side showed improvement in all areas after expected defeats — despite stout resistance — against Australia in the Caribbean and England in the cold and damp of spring in that country.
In July and August, the West Indies trounced an admittedly weak New Zealand in all formats.
