Tuesday 11th March 2014 – Basseterre, St. Kitts & Nevis: Warner Park, St. Kitts has been chosen as the host of the final, semi-finals and six group-phase matches during the 2014 Caribbean Premier League. The venue, originally built for the 2007 ICC World Cup, has gone undergone a huge renovation in time to welcome the CPL this summer, as the success of the tournament continues to spread across the Caribbean.
The 8,000 capacity ground is set to welcome the CPL for the very first time, giving the people of St. Kitts and Nevis the chance to experience the thrill of the competition first-hand. The people of St. Kitts & Nevis will also be able to enjoy a week of celebration and entertainment put on to support the final, ensuring that the CPL lives up to its reputation as being the Biggest Party in Sport.

Marlon Samuels provided a supporting act to openers Dwayne Smith and Chris Gayle to help West Indies to a 27-run win over England to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match Twenty20 International series at Kensington Oval yesterday.
Samuels scored an unbeaten 69 as West Indies reached 170 for three and then restricted England to 143 for nine.
The West Indies won the toss and decided to bat first with a challenging start from Smith and Gayle. Smith was off the mark with the first ball, hitting Stuart Broad for six and West Indies piling up 19 runs off the first over.

FORMER West Indies wicketkeeper, Deryck Murray, believes current WI keeper Denesh Ramdin is now channelling criticism positively and maturing into the player everyone expected him to be.
Ramdin, 28-years-old, became the first wicketkeeper from the Windies to score a hundred in a One-Day International on Wednesday when he struck a magnificent 128 that almost single-handedly propelled the regional team to victory against England.
His knock was not enough, though, as he was last man out with the regional side still 25 runs short of the victory target. England won the series 2-1.

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A top official from the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has paid a courtesy call to St. Kitts-Nevis in light of the Federation’s potentially hosting games during the 2014 tournament.
Head of Security for the CPL, Andy Murphy visited Warner Park this week where he had a tour of the facility and met with top security officials from the Federation.
In an exclusive interview with SKNVibes Sports, Murphy outlined the purpose for his visit.
“I have come to St. Kitts and Nevis because we are potentially looking at hosting matches here and I wanted to come and meet the security people, the military, fire brigade and police. We discussed a plan for operating the fixtures here.”
