The ICC Board has gained the necessary votes to approve a large number of sweeping changes relating to the governance and structure of international cricket. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and the PCB were the only two Full Members who abstained when a "comprehensive resolution" was put to vote. South Africa, who had previously opposed the changes, voted in favour.
Last year’s inaugural edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) was a success with the public. But in an effort to reduce costs for the 2014 tournament, the player salary cap is likely to be scaled down.
“We’re looking at reducing the salary cap,” CEO of the CPL Damien O’Donohoe told the Express yesterday.
O’Donohoe said the move “hasn’t been finalised,” yet, but asked how much of a cutback was being considered, he said, “ten per cent will be close to what we will be looking at.”

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad – Former champions Windward Islands crashed out of the Regional Super50 limited overs competition losing their third straight match in the preliminary round to Ireland by 64 runs at the Queen's Park Oval here Friday evening.
Chasing a victory target of 180, the Windwards folded for 115 in 35 overs with opener Tyrone Theophile 27, the only batsman getting past 20. Andre Fletcher hit 19 and middle order batsman Dalton Polius contributed 17 before being one of three victims to man of the match George Dockrell.
BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, (CMC)- Former West Indies vice-captain Kirk Edwards says he was shocked at the decision to expel him from the Barbados team for refusing to sign for match kits leading into the NAGICO Super50 tournament under way in Trinidad and Tobago.Edwards, who travelled with the team to Trinidad, was withdrawn ahead of Barbados’s opening game with the host country on Sunday which they won by 28 runs.
Fingers are being pointed at the manager of the Barbados team Hartley Reid, whom the West Indies Players Association (WIPA) has criticised over his handling of the issue.
