Not sure B. Johnson or Baker will be ready for September. For us well meaning fan, the coach is poor, however, he serves JFF's purpose.

Spot on. I tuned out after the 3rd goal. Players seemed so disjointed
from the get go.
You named them...some do not belong on this stage yet.
Did not hear Lala's comments but I can agree with him.
WC 2026 ??? I don't think so at this point.
I can't really write the words I want...cannot afford to be Trump like with the 'F' smile
Anyway keep on doing your thing. Appreciate it.

The clown (coach) just continue to show how inept he is.

1) He is talking about players not ready yet he is the one who (a) chooses them (b) prepares them for the matches. He is totally absolving himself from any blame for the humiliation.

2) He said there are no untouchables on the team, then who are Bailey and Gray whom he stupidly tried to play as a CAM? Bailey always starts, and in his last 10 games, he has had ONE good match yet only subbed out twice. Those are must-start for the coach.

3) He said defending is not about the system it is about togetherness. What a bunch of crock? Does this mean he is teaching them brotherhood rather than a particular system of defending?

4) He said he wants to see how players are doing at their clubs. WHAT A LIAR! Case in point, there are three Jamaicans at Charlton Athletics, Dixon is on the bench on the U-21 Campbell starts on the First Team (the main team) yet for Jamaica Dixon plays ahead of Campbell. How does that make sense? Coach McLaren when you say you want to see how players are doing at their clubs you are being untruthful, it means nothing to you. So assinine.

5) "I wanted to give everybody an opportunity these last 4 weeks" - WHAT A LIAR! Campbell, Ming and McCalla never saw the field. Anderson a few minutes.

McLAREN WAS STUPIDLY (or for them wisely) GIVEN A RETIREMENT GIFT IN EXCHANGE, WE ARE SEEING JPL PLAYERS STARTING AT THE PRESTIGIOUS GOLD CUP IN POSITIONS THEY DO NOT PLAY.

At this point all I can say is 'feel sorry for you because you care so much
and have to endure stupidity.
But continue being a good soldier.
Something is horribly wrong with the administration . How long is Mclaren's contract ?
It needs to end now as his utterances are ......///

Boss, it is more the injustice and the assumption that we are fools which is endemic in Jamaican sports (you see what's happening with the JAAA) that grates me. Incompetence, vindictiveness, and curry-favor runs rampant.

I know. You cannot imagine how painful this is to me. As a people we have lost
any semblance of good sense. I addressed the T&F issue too and of late it is
being addressed as the entire fraternity including the Govt which has a Ministry
of Sports seen where certain basic things can improve the lot of the athletes.

People be they professionals, teachers, nurses, teachers, law folks et al have free will to seek
better financial gains. I did too when I departed the country in 1982. But I left when knowledgeable
caring people were there.
But we have slipped into a 'don't care, can't care, dont's wanna care, who cares' sort of
people. AND the proliferation is curry favor as you said ,is the millstone that will sink
our sports. Sad.
I wonder if there are sports journalists as times past who should be highlighting and
kicking butts of all involved. That could be the missing piece to have redressal and progress.
I am tired ,my firend so take care.

Jamaica has had some surprising results against Panama in the past years, you and I and most followers of Caribbean football have seen Jamaica beaten by Panama when Jamaica puts on a horror performance.I didn't see this match but what I read it was a horror performance,i would never have thought, that any team in CONCACAF could beat Jamaica 4-1 but Panama did.I am sure that some Jamaican journalists have described Panama as"Jamaica's bogey team"if there's such a thing.

The same government that has deprived western Jamaican track & field athletes of the Montego Bay track for close to a decade?

Not just Panama. Jamaica’s performances at this Gold Cup have been disappointing in every match. Especially given their personnel.

T&T by contrast has 1 player (Levi Garcia at Spartak Moscow) in anything even resembling a top league.

Spicer and Sealey play in MLS

And the rest either play in really low divisions of foreign leagues, or domestically. Expectations for T&T, other than delusional supporters, are below the white line in the road.

Jamaica needs a coach, plain and simple. I thought Whitmore was bad, but this guy McClaren is totally clueless.

They can get all the coaches they want Mario Zagalo, Franz Beckenbauer, Enzo Bearzot and Didier Deschamps if the selection criteria is based on anything but the best players, irrespective of where they were born or where they play, we are going nowhere.

In reply to JoeGrineThere is validity to what you say, but you don’t have to have the best players to see a decent structure, pattern, commitment and shape from your team. In the first half last night Jamaica rarely had a player in the Panama half of the field, and it was not because they were pinned back in their half. Jamaica just seem scared to apply any pressure at all on the ball in Panama’s half.

There is no structure or pattern.
Notice when Hayden (CDM) and Morrison (CAM) are on the field how the team shape and confidence looks like that beautiful game we hear about and see when top teams are on the field.

Come Gold Cup:

Hayden (CDM) - returns home as he is ill. The coach (who had said he would not experiment in the Gold Cup) immediately moves a defender to the CDM position. In other words, the coach is a liar.

Morrison (CAM) - who is in the coach's "bad book" was not called to the squad, but "Busy" Atkinson who is not a CAM is selected to play. In other words, the coach is putting personal feelings ahead of national interest.

We got problems.

I don't know how you have taken our 3 matches but I can't help but say we have improved, the nightmare was the 5-0 licking by the US.after all, in the end, we could have qualified if Levi had scored instead of hitting the upright with about a minute to go.
We can now see that having overseas born players of superior leagues in Europe is"not all cracked up to be what we think",there must be loads of problems having to deal with thes well paid overseas Prima Donnas.
