Farewell luka modric and sadio mane two of the greats of their era

In Miami for this game. What an atmosphere. I’m so happy for Cape Verde. Perhaps a bridge too far but they are everybody’s fav. And as their coach correctly, put it they have already won no matter what happens.

Cabo Verde equalizes

Deroy Duarte has just scored a goal which will send shockwaves across the World Cup. Perhaps across the world!

I said this round of 32 is a dangerous round. And we have another one coming up later tonight.

@CricSham

This World Cup has shown without a doubt that football has grown in small and poorer nations alike worldwide.

This will only serve to bolster the confidence and interest in players of these Nations to return home and play for their homeland.

The reaction of Salah after their win....furthest he's been, that was special.

Mane, was so proud, you could see it on his face. Even after the lead was lost.

Now Argentina is in the 85th minute locked up at 1 with Cabo Verde....Cabo Verde!

This is the first time i have paged close attention to the Argentine team play.

I noticed they played a press defense and were bery aggressive and active in the round robin.

Bit early on, i saw their press against Cabo Verde and thought, this aint a young team....if CV plays smart and holds up, this team may slow down in the 2nd half....and here they are.

Cabo Verde does not have much speed or skilled players....they are not great on the ball. Yet Argentina cant breaak the game open.

They depend way too much on Messi. As if thèy are satisfied with the 2022 win and are just here to pad Messi's stats.

One thing o have noticed, is the reluctance of these teams, all of them, to pepper crosses into the box.

Too many, even those who have v3ry little ability to beat defenders off the ball, a5tempt to dribble the ball into the box rather than cross it early.

Why is that...? Yes it is a higher percentage play, but not if you do not have the skill and get dispossed easily. So much can happen when you cross the ball into the box.

Fri, Jul 3, '26 at 8:16 PM

Right there.....new guy has speed and is breakking open and the player keeps running the ball up rather than attempt the pass.

Fri, Jul 3, '26 at 8:19 PM

Equalize to fcuk

SIDNY LOPES CABRAL 103'

Fri, Jul 3, '26 at 8:19 PM

Fri, Jul 3, '26 at 8:20 PM

Am gonna bring it back....

Pressure, burst pipe!

Pressure building on Argentina....that goalie really has not done much and neds testing more..,,both goals were his inability to read the ball.
