The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) is making it clear that the
decision to remove Sir Viv Richards from the team selection
panel was made because of conflict of interest issues.
In an unusual ten-point note released to the media on Tuesday,
the board said Richards made himself available for reappointment as
a selector even though he had taken a job to do commentary for the
BBC. The WICB's position differs sharply from Richards' own
contention that he resigned
from the selection panel.
