Fazeer Mohammed, writing in the Trinidad Express, appears
resigned to the tail-chasing antics of an inept West Indies Cricket
Board WICB by declaring that the identity crisis of fictional
character Doris is of greater interest to him than events which
will most probably transpire on the cricket front in the coming
weeks.

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has released the
itineraries for the next year's home series against Zimbabwe and
India and announced that St Lucia will host the first ever
day/night ODI in the West Indies.
The touring Zimbabwe squad will arrive in the region on April 12
for a month-long tour. They are scheduled to play two Tests and
ODIs. The visitons will also play a University of the West Indies
Vice Chancellor?s XI in a three day game at the Three W?s Oval in
Barbados, prior to the first Test in Guyana.

He became a household name to sporting enthusiasts quite by
accident, and we have one of his form masters at Wolmers' -? the
late J.D. Woods -? to thank in a sort of roundabout way. Tony Becca
initially ignored Mr Woods' advice for him to become a sports
journalist and instead went into sales. A sporting enthusiast
himself, Becca started freelance writing for a monthly magazine
called Sportslife in his native Jamaica.
Then the late noted journalist J C Proute invited him to lunch
one day. His mission was to offer Tony Becca ? and get him to agree
to ? the job of Sports Editor at a new daily newspaper. The rest,
as they say, is history, and Becca shares some of those moments
spanning over 30 years with CaribbeanCricket.com.

Jermaine Lawson's star-crossed career has hit another speed
bump.
The Jamaican fast bowler, who has had his career interrupted by
back injuries, a bout with
chicken pox and run-ins with the
bowling action police, is now sidelined with an ankle injury
that required surgery last weekend.

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has again bypassed the
players' association and sent draft match/tour contracts directly
to 30 players to make themselves available for the upcoming tour to
Australia.
The board said the players accepting the invitation are required
to sign the letter and return it by 5:00 p.m. on September 19.
