Bangladesh leap above West Indies in Twenty20 rankings at No.6

Bangladesh's exciting one-run win over Ireland on Friday, which gave them an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series, also catapulted them to No. 6 in the ICC Twenty20 rankings - this is the first time Bangladesh feature in the rankings. They are now ahead of New Zealand, India and West Indies, while Ireland, who were in ninth position, drop a place to tenth.

ICC Twenty20 rankings

    1 England
    2 South Africa
    3 Sri Lanka
    4 Pakistan
    5 Australia
    6 Bangladesh
    7 New Zealand
    8 India
    9 West Indies
    10 Ireland

According to the ICC rules, only teams that have played at least eight Twenty20 internationals in the period starting August 1 2009 to date (the qualifying period changes every August) will get a ranking.

If Bangladesh manage to sweep the Ireland series 3-0 on Saturday, they will jump to No. 4 on the rankings.

Narine stars again as West Indies take series 4-1

The fifth one-dayer between West Indies and New Zealand had plenty of similarities to Saturday's fourth ODI at Warner Park: West Indies chose to bat, the top order stumbled, one of their Twenty20 stars made the slowest ODI half-century of his career to anchor the innings, and then some pyrotechnics from Andre Russell took the home side towards 250.

The echoes of Saturday continued during the chase, so much so that when seven overs were remaining, New Zealand needed exactly the same number of runs and had the same number of wickets in hand - 50 runs and four wickets. And once again, Sunil Narine showed how his temperament is as notable as his variations, spooking the New Zealand batsmen in the closing stages to engineer another West Indies victory.
