LEGENDARY West Indian fast-bowler Ambassador Courtney Walsh yesterday outlined that the importance of the Cricket Clinics and Camps is to ensure that youngsters know the basics of the game which will lend itself to their development in the sport.
Antigua & Barbuda finished third in the five-team Leeward Islands Under-15 cricket tournament, which was jointly hosted by St Kitts and Nevis.
The Antiguans won two, lost one, and drew one of their three matches to finish with 45 points, eight points behind Nevis in the number two spot and 16 points adrift of champions, Montserrat.

It was a forgettable regional season for both Darren Bravo and Adrian Barath, but national coach Kelvin Williams is sticking by them.
Diminutive opener Barath, seeking to resurrect his stalled international career, was dropped for the last two games of Trinidad and Tobago’s Regional Four-Day campaign. Bravo played throughout but averaged only 24.58, with three scores over 50.
His dismissal on the third and what turned out to be the final afternoon of the four-day semi-final against the Windward Islands at the Queen’s Park Oval, was not dissimilar to his first innings first ball dismissal--caught in the slips, hanging his bat at a ball outside off-stump. This time, after being put down first ball, he got to eight with two streaky boundaries through the slip cordon. And when finally dismissed, Bravo left the crease swishing his bat not in agitation at his folly as he typically would, but in despair.
Bridgetown, Barbados, CMC – Jamaica withstood an inspired spell from medium pacer Kevin Stoute to clinch a one-wicket victory over Barbados on Tuesday and advance to the Final of the Regional Four-Day Tournament.
Stoute captured 5-29 from 16 overs and left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn ended with 3-78 from 26 overs, as the Jamaicans successfully chased 167 for victory on the final day of the semi-final at Kensington Oval.
Jermaine Blackwood hit four boundaries in the top score of 64 from 98 balls in two hours and Andre McCarthy made 43, but no other batsman reached 20, as the visitors almost blew their chance to win.
