West Indies coach Ottis Gibson wants his team to immediately shift gears towards the 50-over World Cup in Australia and New Zealand next year following a semi-final exit which led to them relinquishing their World T20 title to eventual winners Sri Lanka. Gibson was optimistic that his team could put forth a formidable charge at another global tournament, and has urged his troops to ride the wave of their impressive T20 form over the past few months.

ST JOHN’S, Antigua (CMC) – A brilliant, unbroken century stand between Gavin Tonge and Yannick Leonard helped Leeward Islands pull off a thrilling run chase and beat Guyana by five wickets here yesterday.Chasing 279 for victory, the Leewards reached their target for the loss of five wickets, late in the second session on the final day of their sixth round contest in the Regional Four-Day Championship.
Tonge, more known for his right-arm seam, stroked a gutsy, unbeaten 57 while Leonard, a specialist left-arm spinner, supported with 37 not out, in a sixth-wicket partnership worth 101.
It carried the Leewards from what looked like certain defeat at 178 for five to an unlikely victory a few hours later at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) today announced the men’s Team of the Tournament of the ICC World Twenty20 Bangladesh 2014, with India’s MS Dhoni named captain.
The team includes four players from India, two from both South Africa and West Indies, and one representative each from Australia, Netherlands and Sri Lanka.
Chosen by a select group of experts,* the team was aimed at being suited for Bangladesh conditions, on the basis of performances in the tournament only. Statistics were used but were not the sole basis for selections.

CCC beat Windwards by 82 runs
Kingstown, St. Vincent, April 6 - (www.bcacricket.org) - Combined Campuses & Colleges (CCC) beat the Windward Islands by 82 runs shortly before tea on the third day of their sixth round WICB first-class match at Arnos Vale today.
Chasing 184 to win, the Windwards were bowled out for 101 in 44.1 overs.

Thomas, Hamilton defy Guyana and keep Leewards afloat
ST JOHN’S, Antigua, (CMC) – An unbroken half-century partnership between Devon Thomas and Jahmar Hamilton frustrated Guyana and kept Leeward Islands in with a chance of victory in their sixth round Regional Four-Day match here yesterday.Set 279 for victory at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground, the Leewards slumped to 28 for three before Thomas and Hamilton came together in a 73-run, fourth wicket stand to pilot the hosts to 101 for three at the close of the penultimate day.
Thomas has so far struck 38 from 59 balls with six fours while Hamilton has been equally position with his 34 off 66 balls, including five boundaries.
