The three T&T Red Force players who were taken off the retainer contract programme by the T&T Cricket Board (TTCB) can be back on contract but only after August 4, 2016.
Red Force captain Rayad Emrit, all rounder Kevon Cooper and opener Evin Lewis all had their retainer with the Red Force discontinued after they decided to go to Bangladesh to play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPLT20) which gets going next week. Emrit and Lewis are currently battling for the Red Force against the Barbados Pride in Bridgetown in the second round of the Regional Four-day tournament.
They, together with Cooper leave for Bangladesh after this match. Guardian Media was able to get the relevant section of the players contract which deals with playing cricket overseas during the term of their retainer.
A WICB official explained that the players broke their contracts with the Red Force Franchise by signing contracts before gaining a release.
The Leewards Hurricanes lost four wickets for one run to slump to 26-4 before reaching 48-4 replying to Guyana Jaguars’ 419-9 declared on the second day of their second round WICB PCL four-day First-Class Cricket Franchise at Providence as the home team dominated the day.
The 27 year-old Steven Jacobs, who made his First-Class debut in Grenada in 2006 as an opening batsman, returned to form with his fourth half century, an unbeaten 63 with nine fours from 129 minutes and 87 minutes and shared in vital partnerships with Anthony Bramble (42) and Ronsford Beaten (18) to help push the Jaguars to a 400 plus total before they declared nine minutes after Tea.
Much will depend on Trinidad and Tobago Red Force vice-captain, Yannick Ottley and Steven Katwaroo if they are to claim first innings honours against the Barbados Pride in the West Indies Cricket Board Four-Day tournament at Kensington Oval, Barbados.
The Red Force closed the second day’s play on 153 for five, trailing by 147 runs with Ottley and Katwaroo unbeaten on 26 and 27 runs respectively. Barbados were dismissed in their first innings for 300 with spinners, Imran Khan finishing with figures of four for 75 and Kavesh Kantasingh taking two for 80 while fast bowler Shannon Gabriel claimed three for 49.
The Scorpions are set to continue on five without loss on today's third morning with Captain Paul Palmer and his opening partner John Campbell not out three and two, respectively.
The Volcanoes' batsman Sunil Ambris was a standout on day two with a polished knock of 89, on a pitch which provided turn and bounce for the slow bowlers, to help the visitors to 212.

The not out batsmen were Shamarh Brooks on 102 and Shane Dowrich, 15.
Scorpions vs Volcanoes
Andre McCarthy was composed in striking a career-best 92 to help prevent Jamaica Scorpions from suffering a middle-order collapse against Windward Islands Volcanoes.
But the Volcanoes' off-spinner Liam Sebastien claimed a five-wicket haul to ensure the hosts were pegged back to 230-7 at the close of yesterday's first day of the Professional Cricket League match at Sabina Park.
Score: Scorpions 230-7 (95 overs).
Play is scheduled to resume at 10:00 am today with David Bernard not out on 32 and Damion Jacobs yet to get off the mark.
VISHAUL Singh slammed his second first-class century against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes as his defiant innings pushed Guyana Jaguars to 218-5 at stumps on day one of their WICB Professional Cricket League (PCL) Regional 4-day match at the Guyana National Stadium.Singh is unbeaten on 111 with Christopher Barnwell (19) at the other end. Hurricanes used eight bowlers yesterday but West Indies Under-19 fast bowler Alazarri Joseph stood out as he tore through the defending champions’ top order. The visitors won the toss but gave the home side first strike. Assad Fudadin got Guyana their first five runs of the match then fell leg-before-wicket to Joseph. The very next delivery the Guyanese captain Leon Johnson nicked a lively delivery from Joseph to Orlando Peters at second slip without scoring, Jaguars were 16-2.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stated its not yet committed to touring the West Indies next year for the Future Tours Programme (FTP) scheduled four-Test series. They have also expressed no interest in the WICB proposal of touring India next year for five One-Day Internationals.
Speaking at the BCCI Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday that the entire cricket globe was focused on given India’s important role in world cricket under new president Shahank Manohar, officials from the board were making their first public comments about the WICB since suspending bilateral tours with West Indies following their team’s pullout midway through the India tour last October.
ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board confirmed today that Dave Bernard Jr, Kevin Stoute and Shane Shillingford have been penalised under the Code of Conduct, following the first round of the Professional Cricket League Regional 4-Day Tournament which ended last Monday.
Bernard and Stoute were reported by umpires Peter Nero, Jonathan Blades and Ryan Willoughby during the match between Barbados Pride and Jamaica Scorpions at Kensington Oval for Level 1 breaches of the code.
They both showed dissent at an umpire’s decision by appealing excessively for an lbw decision which was given “not-out”.
Shillingford was reported by umpires Nandkumar Shivsankar, Joel Wilson and Imran Moakan during the match between Windward Islands Volcanoes and Guyana Jaguars at the Guyana National Stadium, also for a Level 1 breach of the code.
Shillingford was penalised for conduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game, when he attempted to bring the game into disrepute through pointing at his elbow during an appeal for caught while he was batting in the 45th over of the Volcanoes’ second innings, deliberately attempting to influence the umpire’s decision.
All three players were fined 10 per cent of their match fees, after they admitted to the offence and accepted the imposition of the proposed sanction.
