Part of it is also lack of familiarity with the Sabina Park pitch.. There is always bounce and
as the pitch becomes harder and baked spinners will get very good bounce and pace if not
big turn. The Mecca has similar characteristics back in the day.
It is therefore almost a 'sin' to be playing back to bowlers who really spin the ball on a day four pitch. Caution
is the word...
Except for a few batters like Gomes,Lara and Kanhai,Kalli and Fredo ,Lloyd only he Barbadian greats really handled Sabina Park pitches very well, from the
famed Ws, through Sobers,Nurse et al to Greenidge and Haynes and they were prolific.
I doubt Hodge who looked like coping using his feet, Athanaze and Louis were perhaps playing at a Test match pitch at Sabina for the first time.
It can be a challenge.
Hety and Ganganand Singh debuted I think at Bina and they looked virtual novices.
It's a while too that regular FC domestic Tournament games been played there as of olden times and all players
need that experience of playing on different venues throughout the region.
Maybe the Board should reconsider staging FC cricket in only one or two venues in a season.
Some of our batters did not cope well with the extra pace or bounce either. I think getting
hit a few times took some starch out of them.
Anyhow, Bangladesh used the conditions better and deserve their win
