Web site, West Indies captain Brian Lara addresse a wide variety of
issues, including the team's batting order and vice captaincy.
On his assessment of the second ODI:
I still feel that we fell down a bit in the batting. The batting
is not as solid as we would have hoped. I am happy with the
bowling. I asked yesterday for more wickets today especially in the
first 20 to 25 overs and they were four or five down today. The
fact that they got 150 yesterday shows the importance of taking
early wickets because they did have a sort of a flier (Sunday).
Guyanese opener Sewnarine Chattergoon has been drafted into the
West Indies squad for the third and fourth ODI against
Zimbabwe.
The left-handed Chattergoon, 25, who enjoyed a solid series
against England 'A', is one of three players called up for the two
games schedule for May 6 and 7 in Guyana.
We are asking the women's whereabouts because we know they are
absent. We know the men are present, but we also need to ask where
they are too, in terms of locating their position on the map, so
that we can see where they stand in relation to the women, and vice
versa.
There is no real value in discussing the location of one sector
of our society in a vacuum. Such a discussion holds too much
potential to remain merely divisive and unable to provide us with
the picture we need to help us to frame our thoughts on how we
travel into our future.
In Dominica, the average sports fan, more so cricket fans, will
be elated come December 2006, the carded end of construction of the
Windsor Park Sports Stadium. The stadium is a gift worth EC$33
million, from The People's Republic of China to the government and
people of Dominica.
The mostly cricket stadium located in downtown Roseau will be of
International Cricket Council (ICC) international standard and will
accommodate state-of-the-art facilities featuring 10,000 seats, a
media centre, practice nets, players' complex, digital score boards
and five cricket pitches.
