Given its spineless track record, expect the ICC to duck calls for aging and incompetent umpires to be put out to pasture, and for increasing use of today’s technology.
With the aging Steve Bucknor once again at the centre of the controversy, its time for cricket to adopt a policy, similar to ones used in other sports, that allows for player review of umpiring decisions.

Despite having sustained a fractured left thumb and still feeling pain from his strained left hamstring, Gayle heroically took to the crease and made a blazing 38, with four fours and three sixes. He later held two brilliant, one-handed catches at slip, but the West Indies lost the match by seven wickets.

In a brilliant spell, running into a strong southwesterly breeze blowing into his face, the Trinidad & Tobago medium pacer sent down 24 consecutive overs and took 3 for 46. The team vice captain was called into action after fast bowler Fidel Edwards was forced to leave the field with a left hamstring strain.
