West Indies captain Chris Gayle, who top scored in the Third Digicel One Day International with 53, had some stinging words of criticism for his middle order batsmen who failed to capitalize on an opening stand of 86 in 17.4 overs.
"I thought myself and Xavier (Marshall who made 35) really started well this morning, the wicket was doing a bit early up but the middle order was a disaster for us again," Gayle said at the post match presentation ceremony.
Australia captain Ricky Ponting has been fined 30 per cent of his match fee after being found guilty of breaching the ICC’s Code of Conduct during his side’s ODI against the West Indies in Grenada on Friday.
The penalty was handed down by Roshan Mahanama of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees following a hearing that took place after the match, which Australia won by 63 runs by the D/L method to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

West Indies captain Chris Gayle said he was extremely disappointed with the way some of his batsmen got out as they chased 204 runs from 41overs after the Duckworth/Lewis Calculations shifted the Australian total of 213 for 5 from 50 overs.
"We put ourselves in a good position restricting them to 213 but the batting again was a big disappointment with the way some of the guys got out," Gayle said as the West Indies capitulated to 58 for 6 before a 55 minute rain interval after 37 overs. They only got to 140 for 8 from the allotted 41 overs as Shivnarine Chanderpaul played a valiant hand but in vain to remain unbeaten on 45 at the end.
The West Indies Players' Association has acquired the image and intellectual property rights of 75 of its members as set out in a formal assignment agreement between the players and WIPA.
The rights include the player’s name, nickname, assumed name, likeness, image, portrait, picture, photograph, caricature, voice, signature, signifier, representation or reproduction of same in any form whatsoever, logo or other identification, statements, quotations and biographical or other detail, and all associated fame, reputation and goodwill associated with him together with any registered or unregistered trademarks associated therewith or other intellectual property rights, rights or publicity and/ or personality and other rights of whatever nature as may exist in addition to the same in any jurisdiction from time to time.

This cessation, effective June 30, 2008, will allow for the primary focus of development of West Indies cricket to center on the WICB's Strategic Plan. This Strategic Plan includes a cricket academy that will link all the territories together with a unified approach and under a standardized curriculum. It is in the absolute best interest of West Indies cricket that all parties come together to support one thrust to return the region to the Strategic Plan's stated goal of being at the pinnacle of world cricket by 2012.
