The January 31, 2008 deadline for a WICB probe into allegations of inappropriate activity by West Indies middle order batsman Marlon Samuels has come and gone without a final decision by the regional board.
According to a WICB source, the ICC failed to hand over documentation on the allegations in a timely manner, leading to the delay in completing the internal investigation.

I know fans are likely to be saying there’s nothing to play for in the remaining two One-Day Internationals this weekend in South Africa. However, I believe that even though we have already surrendered the series 3-0 there’s a lot to be gained – especially if we can execute our game plan – in the final One-Dayers on Friday and Sunday.
We have already demonstrated on tour that we have the arsenal to beat the Proteas and it would be great if we can do so on at least one more occasion before departing for home next week.

On the eve of the opening match of the Stanford 20/20 Tournament, there is a gathering of 20 team captains, 14 legends and the media at the grounds. The event is informal, allowing free access to all by all, enabling productive use of each person's time.
It is a sign of things to come as the tournament unfurls for the second time.
It’s been a few days since I returned home to Jamaica from South Africa and, despite the West Indies’ recent defeats to the Proteas, a lot of people have expressed positive feelings to me about our performance in Zimbabwe and in the first couple games in South Africa.
Naturally, like me, they were disappointed that I was unable to play throughout the tour which began very well for us with a 3-1 victory in the One-Day series in Zimbabwe and wins in the first Twenty20 International and Test match against South Africa.

Earlier today, I found myself in a conference room at the Sticky Wicket restaurant in Antigua surrounded by some of the greatest West Indies cricket icons. Sobers was there. Sir Everton Weekes. Roberts, Holding, Garner, Walsh. Sir Viv. Greenidge and Haynes.
I was offered an opportunity to work the room, take my pick, for interviews ahead of this year's Stanford 20/20 tournament. Not sure why but I instinctively looked for Curtly Ambrose, the man from Antigua who is one of 14 "legends" supporting this annual spectacle.
