On the day the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) is expected to release the squad for the home series against Sri Lanka, there are rumblings that the board's tenuous alliance with WIPA is hanging by a string.
The two sides have not yet reached an agreement over sponsorship splits for the recent tours of Zimbabwe and South Africa and even as a WICB/WICB meeting later this week is slated to discuss terms for the upcoming series, players are already complaining about being given contracts before terms are even negotiated.
Jamaica's captain Chris Gayle is not a happy camper and Carib Beer Cup umpires Terrance Birbal and Dalton Holder are feeling the wrath of his words.
Immediately after his side crashed to a 17-run defeat against Barbados, Gayle lashed out at the umpiring in the game, arguing that some "blatant" mistakes helped to undermine his side in the game. "If you look at some of the decisions that went against us, it was really terrible for sports and the game, and it was just blatant," Gayle said.

Retired West Indies batting great Brian Lara is among four regional stalwarts to receive the Order of the Caribbean Community, according to a CMC Sports report.
Lara, who holds the batting world record for the highest individual scores Test (400 not out) and First-Class (501 not out), was named for the honour, along with Professor Rex Nettleford, Dr Nicholas Joseph Orville Liverpool and the Honourable George Lamming.
Former West Indian players Ian Bishop, Desmond Haynes, Andy Roberts and Courtney Walsh are back on the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) cricket committee, according to a Tony Cozier report in the Trinidad Express newspaper.
The four players from the era when West Indies dominated world cricket were replaced last November but WICB president Julian Hunte has confirmed they were reinstated after he met with them in Antigua on February 22 to discuss the issue.
