Trinidad & Tobago remained in the hunt for the second semi-finals berth in Group B, after rain halted a Titans surge as the match approached its crescendo. Titans needed 36 to win from three overs, with an imperious AB de Villiers at the crease and Sunil Narine already bowled out, but Titans had lost six wickets en route to 153, and that meant they were six runs adrift of the Duckworth-Lewis par score after 17 overs.
T&T's victory was founded on a scintillating 109-run stand for the second wicket between Evin Lewis and Darren Bravo, which came in 64 balls. They hit 188 for 6 despite an indifferent finish to the innings, and thanks largely to Narine and Lendl Simmons, who took 4 wickets for 41 in seven wickets between them, that total proved sufficient. Their victory means that three teams, including Titans, remain capable of progressing to the semi-finals alongside Chennai Super Kings.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) recently held one of its Cricket Executives Committee meetings in Dubai, and once again it was mostly a grand waste of time.
The meeting, according to reports, dealt with a few things, including the number of balls to be used in each innings of an ODI match and the start of the long announced World Test Championship.
The ICC, after listening to arguments on the pros and cons of it, ruled that it will retain the use of two balls per innings in an ODI match, but, in the case of a match reduced to 25 overs or less at the start, one ball would be used.
And in the case of the Test championship, the ICC announced that it would start the process with the Pakistan-South Africa series in Dubai in October.

Sixteen-year-old Shorye Chopra and Kartik Shekar won the Spartan Scholarship based on their outstanding performances for UAE junior team and in domestic tournaments. Both Chopra and Shekar were stunned and delighted when they heard they were selected for the scholarship and would receive it from Gayle.
Sun and Sand Sport, who conducted a country-wide search for budding talent, selected Chopra and Shekar, who are students of the G Force Cricket Academy.
Kingston, Jamaica – The West Indies Cricket Board today announced that the Regional Super50 Tournament has been awarded to Trinidad and Tobago for three years.
This follows a commitment from the government of Trinidad and Tobago through the Ministry of Tourism to play a major role in the execution of the tournament during the three-year period – 2014 to 2016.
The fourth and final day of the India A v West Indies A match started with the West Indians declaring their second innings at their overnight score of 130 for 3, setting the Indians a target of 315 from a minimum of 90 overs at the Gangothri Glades stadium in Mysore on Saturday (September 28).
Chasing that target on a pitch that was aiding spinners was never really in question, and, in the end, the Indians sank to a 162-run loss an hour after tea, Manprit Juneja’s battling 70 well overshadowed by the West Indian spinners led by Nikita Miller, who had astounding returns of 5 for 40 from 36.4 overs.
