An all-spin selection panel

Former Guyana and West Indies off-spinner Clyde Butts has been appointed chairman of a new-look team selection panel.

Butts is the only holdover from the previous panel.  The WICB's new panel will also include Raphick Jumadeen and Robert Haynes, making up an all-spin trio.

Windies regulars in Stanford Super Stars squad

More than a dozen regular West Indies cricketers have been picked in a 28-man squad for the Stanford Super Stars game against England in November.

The squad, which will go into training ahead of the big game, includes West Indies captain Chris Gayle, vice-captain Ramnaresh Sarwan and regulars Shiv Chanderpaul, Dwayne Bravo, Jerome Taylor, Denesh Ramdin and Daren Powell.

WICB: Malicious campaign to discredit Hunte

President of the West Indies Cricket Board of Control (WICB) Julian Hunte Thursday said that an article appearing in the regional media raising questions about the propriety of his St.Lucia Office was part of a malicious campaign intended to malign him and bring to and end a programme of reform which he set in motion since being elected.

In his first reaction to the report which appeared in the Trinidad Guardian and has since been picked up by the Caribbean Media Corporation, Hunte said that a full report and airing of the matter was planned for a meeting of the Board on 24 and 25th July, and he would refrain from providing too much detail at this time.
