Barbados time-wasting under WICB scrutiny
The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has charged the Barbados first-class team with breaching Law 42 (of the Laws of Cricket) as it applies to time-wasting.The board's disciplinary committee will conduct a hearing to determine any sanctions against Barbados.
Monty Panesar fined for excessive appealing
England spinner Monty Panesar has been fined 25 per cent of his match fee for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials during the fifth Test against West Indies at Trinidad.Panesar was found guilty of excessive appealing by Alan Hurst of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees in a hearing after the fourth day’s play concluded in Port of Spain. He was found to have breached Level 1.5 of the code after he repeatedly celebrated a dismissal before the decision was made by the umpire.
ICC to use 'Hot Spot' in SA/Aus series
The International Cricket Council (ICC) today confirmed that ‘Hot Spot’ would be available for use as part of its ongoing technology trial during the second and third Tests of the South Africa – Australia Test series.‘Hot Spot’ images will be available to the third umpire in the event of a player requesting a decision to be reviewed during the matches in Durban (starting on 6 March) and Cape Town (starting on 19 March).
