WICB announces Digicel as West Indies team sponsor

St John’s, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board announced longstanding sponsor of West Indies cricket and leading regional telecommunications provider, Digicel, as the official West Indies men’s team sponsor and telecommunications partner for the period 2013-2016. Digicel will also be the official sponsor of the West Indies A Team for the corresponding period.

Digicel will be team sponsor of the West Indies men’s team for all home and away series in all formats – Test, One Day Internationals and Twenty20 except International Cricket Council tournaments.

Bravo brothers shine in Windies win

BIRMINGHAM, England – West Indies defeated Sri Lanka by 17 runs in a warm-up match Tuesday to sign-off their preparations for the Champions Trophy .

West Indian bowlers struck at regular intervals to bowl out Sri Lanka for 280 runs at Edgbaston after the Caribbean side posted a total of 297 runs for the loss of six wickets.

West Indian players in legal action

TORONTO, Canada (CMC) — West Indians Tino Best and Devon Smith are among 16 players who have started legal proceedings against the organisers of the Cricket All Star T20 match in Toronto in May claiming they have yet to be paid.

Ontario-based Kat Rose Custom Designs Inc (Kat Rose), which organised the Cricket Canada-approved event, has been served notices at the Toronto Small Claims Court regarding unpaid match fees and expenses totalling approximately $113,000.

CPL Gives Fans Access to the Player Draft

The Caribbean Premier League draft takes place on Wednesday, 5 June in Jamaica, and fans and players alike will be able to keep track of which players are going to which franchise team via social media and the CPL website.

As of 12pm Jamaica time (1pm Eastern Caribbean Time) on Wednesday, fans will be able to log on to the CPL website or the CPL Facebook page,  or follow the CPL Twitter feed, @cpl_t20 to see the six franchise teams being filled with players as the draft goes on and the players are bought.
