Yes. A really good morning of heats. The Sherika withdrawal hurts but the athlete this morning looked good. More to come later in the day hopefully.

On another note, Gabby Thomas looks ready.

Deandre Watkins, the jamaican national 400m trials winner finished dead last in his heat. his olympics is over. no men's 4 x 400 relay. He was one of those who elected not to run to try to qualify the relay team.

Sorry to see. But most folks do not expect much from these 400m runners.
I don't expect any to make the semis much less final...maybe Powell...
That event, the Signature One in Jamaica's Olympic History from 1952, has been a
very sore point to T&F followers in the Island.
Something is wrong and it will get worse if proper steps are not made to get things
back on course.
Jamaica should never go to an OLympics without x Mens 4x400 . The Honour of
Wint, Rhoden, Laing and McKenley should never be dimmed.

Yes...And I like my Kirani to do well too.Yes he is older than most if not all there
but he is now a very tactical runner who knows the Event. Don't count
him out of a medal. Would burst my gladbag if it is GOLD.

Steven Gardnier from the Bahamas was a DNS. excellent. i am salty with the Bahamas due to their cheating at the last Carifta, what they did to the yardies, and them pulling out of the 4 x 400 qualifier.

Kirani is tactical. He is 31 and you cant count him out

He and Bailey in Repechage tomorrow....Bailey's time 44.68 was much better than Automatic qualifyer Powell who ran 45.12
perhaps Bailey can sneak into the semis as that was the 2nd best loser time.
One can only hope. lol

Oh heck, I miss Gardnier...I wonder why he did not start...Some big time athletes missing
from events. Always support the Bahamians as I like how competitive they are and once
they see a Jamaican, they are more excited to beat them..a nice history too at age group
level.smile

Seville has stepped it up on Lyles. That 9.81 is fine and
the rivalry is at peak now..Final should be something else if the other
Jamaican boys get in the 8.

Yes...Feel much better now... Kerley to my mind, is the greatest American threat.
He always come good when not expected and is always confident..
Yard has to get the Gold here tho.

I really don’t want Lyles to win. Man already feel he is the reincarnation of Carl Lewis

How the hell did Lyle’s win that race. Oblique really starting to look like this generation’s Asafa Powell. I would have been happy with anybody but Lyles.
