B'dos Wins Carib Beer Cup

Barbados crushed the Leeward Islands by seven wickets inside three days to stroll to an unprecedented 18th regional first-class title with a game to spare. On a rain-interrupted day, the Leewards crashed from 94-4 to 98 all out with pacers Tino Best and Ian Bradshaw doing the damage.

Best finished with 4-26 to push his season haul to 28, while Bradshaw picked 2-26 (match haul 6-89) and 25 wickets for the season. Set 57 for victory, Barbados triumphed in 12 overs.

Windies World Cup Grades (Part 2)

And now for the wicket-keeper and the bowlers. Following up on my report card of the West Indies batsmen at the World Cup, I will now take a look at the performance of Ridley Jacobs and the "horses-for-courses" fast bowling arsenal.

NOTE: The grades for Jermaine Lawson and Corey Collymore were incomplete because they each played only one game (Collymore did not get a bowl in the rain-affected Bangladesh game).

Coming to America: World Cup Cricket

Forget forfeited matches, the Duckworth-Lewis method and the failure of many of cricket's biggest nations to make the Super Six, the World Cup's biggest talking point is still to come. The International Cricket Council are to stage some of the 2007 World Cup's matches in the United States - and might even use Disney World as a venue.

My Fifth Round All-Stars

The fifth round of the Carib Beer Cup saw five centuries scored, four more than the sole century scored in the previous round. Centuries were registered this time around by Devon Smith, Alex Adams, Philo Wallace, Sherwin Campbell and Aneil Kanhai. It's the second century for Kanhai, who scored a double century before in Round Two. He is also the only batsman to have scored more than one century so far.

'I Want the West Indies Job' - Woolmer

Former South African coach Bob Woolmer has confirmed a CaribbeanCricket.com exclusive report that he interviewed separately with WICB boss Wes Hall and chief selector Viv Richards for the West Indies coaching vacancy.

Woolmer, who now serves as ICC High Performance Director, told BBC Sports he was very keen on taking the West Indies job. "I am not sure what will come of it. It is up to them to call me now. But it goes without saying, for the meeting to last as long as it did means it was encouraging on both sides," the former England all-rounder said.
