Meeting Brian Lara is a confusing experience. He is charming and suspicious, almost paranoid, in equal measure. He is remarkably articulate and eminently plausible in everything he says. But his is only one side of the story. Much of what he says is self-justifying and when it comes to the big issues he is strong on rhetoric and light on detail.
West Indies fast bowler Ravi Rampaul who suffered a minor groin tear has been ruled out of the fourth Test match against England. Rampaul suffered the injury while playing against the MCC XI in a warm up game prior to the third Test match.
All rounder Darren Sammy sustained a minor groin injury while batting in the second innings of the third Test match. Sammy has not been ruled out of the fourth Test in Durham and will continue to receive treatment and a decision on his availability will be made on afternoon of Thursday June 14th.

West Indies middle order batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul rates his unbeaten century in the just-concluded Test against England as his "best innings," describing batting on the last two days as pretty difficult.

He retreated to South Africa after being discarded by the West Indies selectors, following an unimpressive series in Australia. That was 2001, the same year that Jimmy Adams then popped up on Sky Sports, signalling the start of his TV career. "I was contacted by Sky and asked if I fancied coming in and doing some work with them during that series [WI vs South Africa]. I had the time so I decided I would see what that was like," said the former West Indies captain.
He liked it and they liked him. As a commentator, Adams is content to do things his way. As he said during this recent interview at Lord's "you can't separate who you are from what you do." What he is not is controversial, or a poster child for negativity, but does it mean he wouldn't critique a friend?
