WICB PRESS RELEASE:

The Board of Directors of the WICB (West Indies Cricket Board) at its meeting in Barbados on August 25, 2007, as part of its thrust in cricket development, approved the participation of a Combined Campuses and Colleges Team (coordinated through the University of the West Indies) in all future Regional One-Day and Four-Day Tournaments.

Bruce Aanensen's resignation letter

This is the full text of a letter sent by WICB chief executive Bruce Aanensen to president Julian Hunte:

Hi Julian,

Please see the attached letter for your attention. I have always lived my life with high standards of honesty, integrity and respect for my fellow man. Sadly, some directors do not embrace these values.

I find it very difficult to relate to people who are disrespectful to others at every opportunity. I also find it difficult to enforce ethical standards with our staff when directors openly disregard these ethics with no consequences. Where moral values are concerned, I make no compromise. It is against this background that I felt that I had little choice but to make the decision I did.

Conflict-of-interest questions swirl around Aanensen, Digicel

Conflict-of-interest questions are swirling around outgoing WICB CEO Bruce Aanensen's close ties to a private marketing company hired by Digicel to run coaching clinics around the Caribbean.

Aanensen, who was part of a WICB management team that pushed for the renewal of the Digicel sponsorship -- against the wishes of the board's own Finance and Audit Committee -- is listed as a director and 25% shareholder of All Sport Promotions Limited, a private Trinidad & Tobago concern that has been handling promotional and marketing work for Digicel for more than a year.
