Trinbago Knight Riders cruised to victory in their 2021 Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) encounter with Jamaica Tallawahs, winning by a commanding 75 runs.
The Tallawahs won the toss and opted to field first. Trinbago Knight Riders initially struggled to score runs as they were restricted by Imad Wasim and Veerasammy Permaul, but a late onslaught from captain Kieron Pollard and Tim Seifert ensured they reached 167-4 after the duo blasted 28 runs in the final over.
Jamaica Tallawahs struggled to build partnerships amidst some fantastic bowling from Sunil Narine, Ravi Rampaul and Ali Khan as they finished 92 all out against the defending champions.

ST JOHN’S, Antigua – The Cricket West Indies (CWI) Women’s Selection Panel has announced the West Indies Women’s 13-member squad for the first and second CG Insurance ODIs against South Africa Women. The panel also confirmed the 18-member provisional squad for the Series which will be played from September 7 to 19 at the Coolidge Cricket Ground (CCG) and Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground (SVCG).
The opening match is a day/night game under lights on Tuesday starting at 2:45 pm local time (1:45 pm Jamaica Time). The remaining four CG Insurance ODIs are day games starting at 10 am local time (9 am Jamaica Time).
Experienced off-spinner Anisa Mohammed will serve as captain as Stafanie Taylor is unavailable for the CG Insurance ODI series. Taylor returned home to Jamaica on a personal leave of absence after serving a period in isolation in Antigua due to being identified as a primary contact of a COVID-19 positive case in Jamaica.

TEDDY BISHOP was left stranded short of a century, underlining West Indies Under-19s disappointment, as they crashed to their second straight defeat to England Under-19s here yesterday.
The 18-year-old right-hander hit a glowing 97 off 104 balls to lift the Caribbean side to 180 all out in the 40th over and, despite an excellent effort to defend the modest total, they went down by a single wicket to fall behind 2-0 in the six-match series.
West Indies looked sure bets to win it when they reduced the hosts to 162 for nine in the 35th, but a 19-run, last-wicket stand between Fateh Singh (12 not out) and Nathan Barnwell (three not out) frustrated them and took England over the line off 38 overs.
Fast bowler Isai Thorne was again among the wickets, with three for 54, while left-arm spinner, Anderson Mahase, grabbed two for 34 as the Rising Stars struck at vital times during the run-chase.
