Worcestershire have signed West Indies fast bowler Fidel Edwards as their overseas player for the second half of the 2008 English County season.
The 26-year-old Barbadian is expected to arrive at New Road at the beginning of July and it will end a frustrating search by the county to bolster their pace attack.
The new full-time manager of the West Indies team is Trinidad & Tobago's Omar Khan.
According to information reacting CaribbeanCricket.com, Khan is expected sign a long-term contract to manage the senior team beginning with the home series against Sri Lanka.
The ICC today announced that West Indies bowler Marlon Samuels has been suspended from bowling in international cricket pending fresh assessment after independent analysis of his bowling action revealed that his off-break and fast deliveries exceeded the 15 degrees level of tolerance permitted under regulations.
The independent analysis was performed by Dr Mark King, member of the ICC Panel of Human Movement Specialists, at the National Cricket Academy, at Loughborough University in England on 11 February.
The two-day ICC Chief Executives' Committee (CEC) meeting concluded in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday (20 February) with several recommendations to be made to the ICC Board at its next meeting in March.
