Shame on the Jamaica Cricket Association

So the ICC have finally got around to suspending Marlon Samuels from bowling in international cricket. I have one question: what took them so long?

The news that Marlon Samuels was suspended from bowling in international cricket by the ICC could hardly have come as a surprise to anyone who has followed West Indies cricket for any time. For this, I charge the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) with malpractice.

Edwards signs with Worcestershire

Worcestershire have signed West Indies fast bowler Fidel Edwards as their overseas player for the second half of the 2008 English County season.

The 26-year-old Barbadian is expected to arrive at New Road at the beginning of July and it will end a frustrating search by the county to bolster their pace attack.

Samuels suspended from bowling in international cricket

The ICC today announced that West Indies bowler Marlon Samuels has been suspended from bowling in international cricket pending fresh assessment after independent analysis of his bowling action revealed that his off-break and fast deliveries exceeded the 15 degrees level of tolerance permitted under regulations.

The independent analysis was performed by Dr Mark King, member of the ICC Panel of Human Movement Specialists, at the National Cricket Academy, at Loughborough University in England on 11 February.
