WICB should pack up, hand over keys

I can think of no better time in the history of West Indies cricket for the people who have repeatedly called for change to establish their moral and economic right to enforce it because of their current investment.

We've said our emotional investment in West Indies cricket ought to entitle us to some say in how it is run. That has fallen on deaf ears.

Sarwan confirmed as WI captain

Ramnaresh Sarwan has assumed the poisoned chalice that is the captaincy of the West Indies team.

The 26-year-old right-hander was confirmed as the 29th captain of the regional team at a WICB meeting today in Barbados. He has been placed on probation with strict performance targets. See updated story.

I am extremely grateful to the UWI and especially Professor Beckles for so highly honoring me with this opportunity, as we formally remember this Icon of the world, Sir Frank Worrell – to have been thought fit to speak about this global colossal is the most humbling and at the same time, exhilarating feeling, a life long admirer of Sir Frank could have and I am profoundly grateful and will try my utmost over the next few minutes to justify this confidence placed in me by the UWI.
