England 277 for 8 (Dawkins 97, Mohammed 75, Pollard 3-39) beat West Indies 276 for 9 (Carter 87, Miller 44, Lumsden 2-32) by 2 wickets
The West Indies suffered a 2-wicket loss to England in the fifth game of their seven-match Youth One-Day International Men’s Under-19 series at Grenada’s National Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. It was one of the rare days in the series so far in which the Caribbean side’s middle-order failed to spark.
Despite wickets tumbling, opener Zachary Carter stroked a brilliant 87 from 59 deliveries to lead the regional batters. Help from the lower-order came in the form of Matthew Miller (44) and Isra-el Morton (28), who fashioned handy knocks to help lift the hosts to a respectable total of 276 for 9 from their 50 overs.
Manny Lumsden led the English attack with figures of 2 for 31. He was one of three young Lions who copped two wickets, along with Farhan Ahmed (2-51) and Luke Hands (2-53).
The West Indies are set to compete in Group C at the upcoming ICC 2026 Men's T20 World Cup to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka in February and March. The Caribbean side has been drawn alongside England, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Italy.
West Indies will bowl off their tournament against Bangladesh on February 7th, the opening day, in Kolkata, before taking on England four days later in Mumbai. They face Nepal on the 15th at the same venue, ahead of a return to Kolkata, where they will round out their group fixtures against Italy on the 19th.
The 20 teams have been divided into four groups of five, from which the top two teams will progress to the Super Eight stage. Teams in the Super Eight will then be placed into two groups of four, where each team will play the other members of their respective group. From there, the top two progress to the semi-final.

The West Indies have taken a commanding 3-1 lead in their seven-match Men’s Under-19 series against England, following a dominant 98-run victory in the fourth Youth One-Day International at the St. George's National Cricket Stadium in Grenada on Monday.
Jonathan van Lange led the regional batters, carving 80 from 68 balls to propel the Caribbean side to 280 for 7 from their 50 overs. Captain Joshua Dorne also scored 80 (104 balls), after openers Tanez Francis (51) and Zachary Carter (34) laid a solid platform, putting on 55 runs for the first wicket. Luke Hands was the most penetrative of the visiting bowlers, finishing with figures of 3 for 63.
Red Force 106 for 4 (Webster 31*, Goolie 29*, J Sinclair 2-21) beat Harpy Eagles 196 (Motie 65, Paul 39, Hinds 3-18) by 6 runs (DLS)
Tournament hosts Trinidad & Tobago Red Force, along with the Barbados Pride, were the winners from Sunday's Round 3 action of Cricket West Indies’ CG United Super50 Cup. On another rain-dictated day of competition, the Red Force defeated the Guyana Harpy Eagles by 6 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method (DLS) at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy to earn their second win of the competition.
Three wickets apiece from Terrance Hinds (3 for 28) and Ricky Jaipaul (3 for 29) helped dismiss the Harpy Eagles for 196 in 40.3 overs, despite a counter-attacking 58-ball 65 from West Indies’ Gudakesh Motie. Jyd Goolie (29*) then smashed 24 from a Sylus Tyndall over to lift T&T just beyond the par score before rain halted play with the hosts at 106 for 4 in the 22nd over. The game was eventually called off due to a wet outfield, with no further play.
The West Indies will do battle from Group D at the upcoming ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup in Namibia and Zimbabwe. The Caribbean side has been drawn alongside Tanzania, Afghanistan, and South Africa for next year’s 15 January to 6 February tournament.
The HP Oval is set to host all three of the regional team’s group fixtures. They will be in action on the opening day against Tanzania, before taking on Afghanistan three days later, then South Africa on 22 January.
The format of the competition remains unchanged: the 16 teams are divided into groups of four for a round-robin first stage, after which the top three teams from each group will progress to the Super Six phase and subsequently the semi-final and final.
