The St Kitts & Nevis Patriots have replaced Isuru Udana, who is now no longer available for the Hero CPL due to international commitments. He will be replaced by West Indian fast bowler, Alzarri Joseph, who has played for the Patriots since 2016. Joseph has played nine Tests and 16 ODIs for the West Indies but missed the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup through injury.
As a Leeward Islands cricketer there is a strong local connection for the Antiguan, Joseph. The Patriots are very proud to be representing the Leeward Islands at CPL so having a local player of such quality join the squad for the 2019 tournament is a huge boost for the franchise.
The Patriots Director of Cricket, Robin Singh, said: “It is always frustrating to lose players so close to the start of a tournament but in Alzarri we have a local player who is world-class and has a track record of success. As a very promising young fast bowler it is exciting to have Alzarri with us. We feel that the Patriots have a very strong squad this year and we are confident of making the knockout stages and pushing for our first title.”
Jamaica should provide the West Indies with a great opportunity to get off the mark in the ICC World Test Championships, in the ultimate battle of India’s MyTeam11 2019 full tour of the Caribbean. Considering that subsequent to the conclusion of this series, the West Indies will have more away battles remaining to contest than they will have at home in the tournament. While, the Caribbean side has seen their bowling attack strengthened by the inclusion of Keemo Paul, they will once more field a weakened batting line-up in the continued absence of wicket-keeper batsman Shane Dowrich. ST. JOHN’S, Antigua- Anisa Mohammed has been included in the 13-member West Indies Women’s squad selected by Cricket West Indies (CWI) Interim Selection Panel, to play the three-match Colonial Medical Insurance One Day International (ODI) Series against Australia, starting on September 5 in Antigua.
Anisa last played international cricket for the West Indies in the away tour against Pakistan in February. She is the fifth highest ODI wicket-taker in women’s cricket with 146 wickets and brings a wealth of experience to the Stafanie Taylor-led team.
Currently ranked seventh in the ICC Women’s ODI Championship, the team will rely on its experienced players to fill the void left by Shakera Selman, Chedean Nation and Shemaine Campbelle, who have all been ruled out due to injury. Kyshona Knight, also included in the squad, adds to that experience having been a part of the ICC T20 Women’s World Cup winning squad of 2016.

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – Cricket West Indies’ interim selection committee today named the 13-member squad for the second Test match against India at Sabina Park, Jamaica. The match starts on Friday, August 30 and is part of the MyTeam11 Series, co-sponsored by Skoda and KEI.
All-rounder Keemo Paul has recovered from an ankle injury and is available for selection. He replaces fast bowler Miguel Cummins. Wicket-keeper Jahmar Hamilton will remain with the squad. Shane Dowrich, has returned to Barbados to continue his rehabilitation, after being ruled out of the Series with an ankle injury.
This is the second Test match in a series which marks the start of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC)or both teams, the new two-year Test Championship to find out the best Test team the world. West Indies have the chance not only to win the second Test to draw the Series, but also the opportunity to claim sixty (6o) points for a win or to claim their first points in the WTC. In this Series, each team can earn 60 points for a win or 20 points for a draw and this is the first of six Test Series which West Indies will play.
