ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – Cricket West Indies is set to honour renowned cricket commentator Joseph “Reds” Perreira for his work in broadcasting the game for close to six decades
The upcoming second MyTeam11 Test between West Indies and India – which is co-sponsored by Skoda and Fena – starting on Friday, August 30, at Sabina Park in Jamaica will be Reds’ 150th Test Match that he has attended. It will also be the 250th Test Match that the West Indies have played on home soil.
“We would like to congratulate ‘Reds’ for his outstanding commentary on the over the last 60 years,” said CWI President, Ricky Skerritt. “He has been an exemplary broadcaster on both regional and international levels for many years and is deserving of this recognition as one of the most notable voices of West Indies cricket.”

For the first time, players will be wearing shirt numbers, as the ICC World Test Championship is set for life-off. Players can choose any number from 1 to 99, and Holder has chosen No.8.
“It brings a different dynamic to Test cricket,” Holder told CWI Media during a brief break from a high-intensity training session at the Three Ws Oval on the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies in Barbados.

India will play three T20s, as many ODIs and two Tests in their upcoming tour of West Indies, starting August 3 in Florida, United States.
The two Tests will be played as a part of the ICC Championship.
"India-West Indies series have always seen explosive action and I don't expect anything less this time around.
It has been confirmed that the Guyana Amazon Warriors home matches for the 2019 Hero Caribbean Premier League will be taking place in Guyana for this season. The matches will take place in two blocks, with three games at the beginning of September and two matches at the start of October.
The Amazon Warriors will get their campaign underway when they take on St Lucia Stars on 5 September before facing St Kitts & Nevis on 7 September. The Guyana franchise will then face the Barbados Tridents in the third match of their home leg on 8 September.
The team will then travel around the region for five away matches before returning to Guyana to face Jamaica Tallawahs on 3 October. The final group match for the Amazon Warriors will be a repeat of last year’s final with the home team taking on the current champions, Trinbago Knight Riders on 4 October.

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – West Indies T20 captain Carlos Brathwaite is expecting a stern challenge from India when the two sides meet in the US for their upcoming Twenty20 series.
The Windies will meet India in the first T20 in Lauderhill, Florida on Saturday and then again on Sunday. The third and final T20 will be played on August 6 in Jamaica.
In recounting the last time the two teams met in the US, Brathwaite said the contests were fiercely contested, with 400 runs being scored in one game.
