JOHN’S, Antigua – Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced that a pivotal meeting with its Full Member shareholders will take place on December 6, 2024, to vote on implementing the governance reforms recommended by the Wehby Report. This marks a critical juncture in CWI’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its governance structure and position West Indies cricket for future success.
In accordance with the company’s Articles of Association, shareholders were notified on November 13, 2024, of the upcoming meeting to vote on governance reform. The session follows discussions at the Annual General Meeting held on March 23, 2024, which resulted in the approval of some recommendations. However, the meeting next week will give shareholders the opportunity to again consider the highly anticipated proposals on the duration of the term of office of President and Vice President of the organisation, as well as the introduction of term limits.
CWI President Dr. Kishore Shallow highlighted the importance of the upcoming meeting, emphasizing that the organization is fully committed to advancing the governance reform agenda.

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced an innovative development program that will see seven of the region's most promising young cricketers embark on a specialized training camp at the Chennai Super Kings Academy in India this December.
Accompanied by West Indies Academy head coach Ramesh Subasinghe and assistant coach Rohan Nurse, the group departs for India on 29 November ahead of the two-week intensive program, which runs from 1 to 14 December.
This significant investment in the future of West Indies cricket focuses on nurturing the region's elite Under-25 talent pool.
Among the selected prospects are three contracted franchise players — Kirk McKenzie, Matthew Nandu, and Kevin Wickham — along with current and former West Indies Academy players Teddy Bishop and Jewel Andrew, and former West Indies Under-19 players Jordan Johnson and Ackeem Auguste, who have already shown impressive potential in regional cricket.
The second match of the Global Super League (GSL) saw a thrilling encounter between Hampshire Hawks and Rangpur Riders in Providence, Guyana. Both sides finished their 20 overs on 132 runs apiece and had to be split by the tournament’s first Super Over. The 26-year-old Rutherford bagged the biggest payday after being picked up by the Gujarat Titans for US$317,000.
Rutherford, who entered the auction with a base price of US$182,000, was the subject of a bidding war between the Mumbai Indians and the Titans.
The Indians started the bidding at US$243,000 before the Titans countered with a bid of US$268,000.
