The West Indian top three of Stafanie Taylor, Hayley Matthews and Shemaine Campbelle ensured a triumphant end to a challenging tour of Sri Lanka, as they anchored a six-wicket win in the third and final T20I in Hambantota to complete a come-from-behind 2-1 series win.
Campbelle remained unbeaten at the end on a 30-ball 41 as West Indies chased down a target of 142 with just one ball to spare. The margin of victory however belies the control the visitors exuded in the chase.
Taylor and Mathews put on a 60-run opening stand in just 48 deliveries, after which Matthews paired up with Campbelle for a 44-ball 51-run stand. When Matthews fell, trapped leg before attempting to swipe one from Kawya Kavindi across the line, the West Indies were on 111 for 2.

The squad features one significant change: Kemar Roach has been replaced by St. Kitts & Nevis’ fast bowler, Jeremiah Louis due to Roach's ongoing rehabilitation from a knee injury sustained during the County Championship in England.

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados — Additional tickets for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 finals matches have been released with Afghanistan, England, India and South Africa now confirmed as the four semi-finalists.
The additional release of tickets includes the Final at Kensington Oval in Barbados on 29 June, where General Admission tickets were previously exhausted.
After a dramatic Super 8 stage, the first semi-final will see South Africa take on Afghanistan, who have reached the semi-finals of an ICC World Cup event for the first time, at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad on 26 June at 20h30 local time.
The second semi-final will see India take on defending champions England at the Guyana National Stadium on 27 June at 10h30 local time.
SAMARA Ramnath cracked an unbeaten 45 to steer Trinidad and Tobago to a nine-wicket victory over Barbados when a T20 Tri-series bowled off at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva on June 24.
The tournament, which is being used as preparation for the Cricket West Indies Rising Stars Women's Under-19 Championships in Trinidad next month, will also feature Windward Islands.
Barbados struggled to keep the scoreboard ticking, only managing 68/5 in 20 overs. Only two batters got into double figures for Barbados. Naijanni Cumberbatch top scored with 18 off 30 balls with one four and Theanny Herbert-Mayers struck 14 off 27 deliveries with two fours. Barbados could not find the fence regularly, only hitting five fours in the innings.
Brianna Harricharan was the best bowler for TT with 2/10 in four overs.
In reply, TT raced to 69/1 in 11.2 overs to ease to victory. Unlike Barbados, TT struck fours more often hitting nine of them. Ramnath's 45 not out came off 35 balls and included eight fours.
West Indies' T20 World Cup 2024 campaign came to an end with defeat to South Africa in Antigua on Sunday, but their captain Rovman Powell was full of praise for the progress they made as a team in the year leading up to the competition.
"I think when you look on a large scale, we haven't won the World Cup. We aren't in the semi-finals. [But] I think the cricket we have played in the last 12 months or so is commendable," Powell said in the post-match presentation ceremony. "Credit has to be given to the team. If you can take a year to move from number 9 to number 3 in the world, that's tremendous work."
"We haven't won the World Cup, but there was a lot of improvement. There's a lot of buzz around the Caribbean again about West Indies cricket. We have done some very good things over the last 12 months.
"Now is where the work starts. It's for us to continue to work as a group, still be tight, and hopefully, just hopefully, we can continue to climb the rankings and make the Caribbean people proud," Powell said.
