Following the completion of the 2022 Hero Caribbean Premier League draft the teams for this year’s tournament have been confirmed.
The biggest move of the draft saw Shai Hope sign for the Guyana Amazon Warriors where he will join Ronsford Beaton and Veerasammy Permaul.
Rahkeem Cornwall has moved from the Saint Lucia Kings to join the Barbados Royals. The Royals also picked up exciting young batter Teddy Bishop and seamer Nyeem Young.
GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC) — As West Indies head into Thursday's final Twenty20 International (T20I) against Bangladesh with the possibility of conditions favouring their opponents' spinners, Captain Nicholas Pooran says he has confidence in his batting unit to respond to the visitors' attack.
Going into the third T20 at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence with a 1-0 lead after a win in the last game and a washout in the first, Pooran said the squad was in a "good space" and hoped to get good weather to close off the series.
Steady showers had forced a premature end to the first T20I at a refurbished Windsor Park last Saturday, as international cricket returned to Dominica for the first time since 2017. The hosts easily brushed aside Bangladesh in their second encounter the following day, winning by 35 runs.

Courtney Francis, the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) chief executive officer, says he awaits the disciplinary hearing into Jamaica Anti-Doping Agency's (JADCO's) allegations against West Indies cricketer John Campbell before making a detailed comment on the matter.
On Wednesday the West Indies Players' Association (WIPA) issued a release stating that, after the preliminary hearing held that morning, a July 19, 2022 date was set for commencement of the disciplinary hearing into the 28-year-old's alleged anti-doping whereabouts rule violation.
"It is unfortunate that this has happened, but I cannot speak to it. We have to respect the process," Francis told the Jamaica Observer when contacted Wednesday evening.

ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today announced the match schedule for the West Indies Men’s “A” Team series against Bangladesh Men’s “A” Team in August. The series will be played at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in Saint Lucia and will feature two four-day first-class matches and three 50-over matches from 4 to 20 August.
This will be the first West Indies Men’s “A” Team series since 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic restricted opportunities and the resumption of West Indies Men’s “A” team matches sees the return of a key development opportunity for players pushing for selection to the West Indies senior team and for emerging players to build their First-Class International experience.
Roland Holder, CWI’s Senior Operations Manager said the series will provide exposure for a number of players and noted it was part of CWI’s commitment to continually developing talent for the international level. He said: “We are pleased to have confirmed the itinerary for the Men’s ‘A’ Team series with the BCB and we are excited to host Bangladesh in the region again. This is a vital part of the development of our players in the pathway toward full international selection, and no doubt this upcoming series of matches in Saint Lucia will provide a platform for further exposure and progress.”
The Guyana Amazon Warriors have announced their overseas signings for the 2022 Hero Caribbean Premier League which gets underway on 31 August.
Imran Tahir will be back with the Amazon Warriors for the fifth consecutive season. Tahir is the record wicket-taker for the franchise with 60 wickets from 43 matches.
Tahir will be joined by fellow South African wrist-spinner, Tabraiz Shamsi, who has Hero CPL experience with the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots from 2015 to 2018. Shamsi, the number one ranked bowler in T20 Internationals, has 33 wickets at the CPL.
