A solid unbeaten 78 from Yousuf Youhana led a rearguard Pakistan
fightback in the first Test against the West Indies in Sharjah.

Youhana joined Abdur Razzaq (34) with Pakistan struggling at 94-4
and the two put together an 84-run partnership to steer Pakistan
out of troubled waters. Rashid Latif is not out on 27.
Barbadian all-rounder Ryan Hinds will make his Test debut
against Pakistan -- just three weeks shy of his 21st birthday.
According to a Craig Cozier report from Sharjah, Hinds has been
chosen in the West Indies eleven for the game, which begins
Thursday (1:00 a.m tonight Caribbean time). The report said Hinds
was included in a batting-heavy team that also features the return
of Guyanese left-hander Shiv Chanderpaul.
Former Guyana middle order batsman
Nezam Hafiz was officially listed among the World Trade Center
missing on Tuesday.
Hafiz, who played six first class matches for both Guyana and the
U.S.A between 1988 and 1991 perished in the September 11 terrorist
attacks but his remains has not yet been identified.
Former West Indies pace spearhead Curtly Ambrose, who retired
from international cricket in 2000 after playing 98 matches, is
preparing to make a comeback in English league cricket, according
to a Bloomberg report.
Bloomberg said the lanky Antiguan, who took 405 wickets in a
spectacular career for the West Indies, will be in England this
year with his band -- The New Dread and Baldhead -- and "will
probably don his cricket whites for the Kent-based club."
Barbados and the West Indies 'B' team shot out of the gate in
the Busta Cup competition this year, scoring convincing outright
wins in opening rounds matches.
Led by a superb nine wicket match haul by seamer Ian Bradshaw,
Barbados pummelled Guyana by 162 runs while the Windies 'B' team
came from behind to win its encounter against Bangladesh 'A'. Click
