ST. JOHN’S, Antigua - Cricket West Indies (CWI) today announced a seventeen-member provisional squad to take on New Zealand Women in three CG United One Day Internationals (ODIs) from September 16-22 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
Newly appointed captain Hayley Matthews leads the squad which sees the return of the experienced Natasha McLean. The squad was selected with the consideration of performances in the recently concluded Skyexch 6ixty and the Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) tournaments.
A match-day squad of 13 players will be selected ahead of each CG United ODI. The CG United ODI Series is scheduled for September 16, 18 and 22 with matches starting at 9.30am local time, 8.30am Jamaica time. The T20 Internationals (T20Is) are scheduled for September 25 to October 6. All of the T20Is will start at 1.30pm local time, 12:30pm Jamaica time, other than the 4th T20I on Tuesday, October 4 which will start at 10.00am local time, 9.00am Jamaica time.

The second batch of tickets for the Hero Caribbean Premier League knockout matches will be going on sale at the Box Office at 233-234 Camp Street, Georgetown from 9am on Tuesday 13 September, including tickets for the final.
All of these matches will take place at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence between the 27 and 30 September.

Rashid Khan will be joining the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots squad for the 2022 Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The hugely experienced Afghan leg-spinner will be replacing Wanindu Hasaranga who is no longer available for this year’s tournament.
English top-order batter Adam Hose will also be coming to the Hero CPL, joining the Saint Lucia Kings. Hose, who has scored 2381 T20 runs at an average of 32.17, will replace Tim David who has been called up for international duty with Australia.

The Jamaica Tallawahs secured their third victory of the 2022 Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) season with a win over Trinbago Knight Riders by 34 runs.
The Trinbago Knight Riders won the toss and chose to field, Ravi Rampaul making early inroads by removing both openers, Brandon King and Kennar Lewis. However, Tallawahs captain Rovman Powell would lead by example, hitting ten boundaries in his innings of 67 to take his side to 153/7 after 20 overs.
Trinbago Knight Riders in turn lost the wickets of Sunil Narine and Tion Webster early on, and largely due to superb bowling spells from Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim, were unable to find any fluency as they consistently lost wickets, ending up on 119/8 and losing by 34 runs.

Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) president Conde Riley has described an impasse between former Barbados and West Indies batsman Kirk Edwards and the BCA that led to a hefty out-of-court settlement in favour of Edwards, as a very “unfortunate” development. He also stressed that there was no reason for his board to resign over the settlement.
Edwards was recently awarded over BDS$200, 000 in damages by the BCA over a 2014 incident that resulted in a breach of his contract and significant losses after being removed as captain of the Barbados team and being subsequently sent home from the NAGICO Super50 competition played in Trinidad and Tobago at the time.
Riley told Barbados TODAY that under the advice of the BCA’s lawyers, they made the decision to settle the matter out of court to avoid any greater repercussions and a prolonged court hearing. “Our lawyers advised us to discuss the matter rather than go to court and spend a long time in court. So, once the lawyers met, they came up with a figure and advised us and we took the lawyers’ advice,” he said.
