WEST INDIES and TT Red Force fast bowler Jayden Seales has been ruled out of competitive cricket for approximately four months owing to an injury to his left knee.
This was confirmed by Red Force coach David Furlonge on Tuesday.
Seales, 21, has been battling knee pain since the West Indies’ first Test match loss against Australia in Adelaide, two weeks ago.
He took one wicket for 95 runs from 21 overs in the first innings and was held back from bowling until late in Australia’s second innings, where he bowled just three overs for 18 runs.
Seales was rested for the second Test, which the maroon also lost.
Furlonge said Seales recently did surgery on his left knee (meniscus) and will be unavailable for selection until around April 2023.
Speaking at the National Cricket Centre, Couva, coach Furlonge said, “Jayden is injured right now and is probably out of cricket for about four months. He has a knee injury and had surgery. In four months, he should be able to come back and play. He has started rehab already.”

Thankfully for the West Indies cricket team and the overseers of the game in the region, the team’s latest humiliation of Caribbean people happened in the midst of the football World Cup. Few noticed. Or perhaps people do not care anymore. Leave them to their own devices.
But Ricky Skerritt, the president of Cricket West Indies (CWI) could not leave well alone. He fell back to the saccharine inanity that the team and administrators offer after every even more feckless performance. The point at every speckle and declare it to be the first fleck of a transformative light.
It is now hard to discern if they are genuine Pollyannas and wide-eyed participants in the massive con. Either way, West Indies cricket needs a massive dose of reality, and an even greater amount of overhaul and reform.
In the event that it was missed, on December 11, Australia completed a 419-run win before the dinner break on the final evening of their second Test (a day-night match), to complete a sweep of the series.

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados- West Indies Women suffered a 49-run defeat to England Women in the fourth T20 International at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
Head Coach Courtney Walsh still had praises for his players despite the loss, "I thought restricting them to 131 was a positive for us. We had a couple injuries during the match with Gajnabi unable to return to bat and Campbelle getting cut so we were hampered in that aspect. The bowlers stood out today, they're all showing but the consistency we're working on. Fraser and Grimmond lead with the ball today but Afy and Hayley have been the most consistent for the series. We have one more game to play and we're going to regroup and come with one last push."
